DIY - Do It Yourself
DIY and self sufficiency go hand-in-hand in our humble opinion. Ok, OK!... I hear the old chestnut about shelves falling down and bits of string holding the bed together but honestly anyone can achieve results that will save a shekel or two if only they are shown how. Why call an electrician to change a plug or change a fuse when you can easily do it yourself safely and cheaply?
Our intention here is to give you the instructions for some very basic do-it-yourself procedures that will save you money and provide you with a sense of achievement and self confidence. Changing an electrical plug or adding a new light in the stable may not seem much to many people but let me assure you that conversely, there are plenty of folk who just don't know how or just need a reminder.
My eldest brother for example, is a very well qualified architect and surveyor who knows all the in's and outs of the theory but cannot lay a brick and takes a week off work to paint a 6X6 bathroom with emulsion! He can now, however, with guidance, change a plug.
